The Lemonade Diet
aka... "The Master Cleanse"
The premise behind this is fasting -- fasting to cleanse your body and help you lose weight by removing the "autotoxication" of your body.
To summarize, they say that when your colon walls get toxic and polluted, the blood capillaries there end up absorbing the toxins and spreading them around your body through your bloodstream. Because of this, you end up poisoning yourself from the inside, making your natural metabolism less efficient and your body less healthy.
That's what they claim in a nutshell. You are also supposed to lose cravings for bad foods (like sugar and coffee). The people I know that tried it got great results but it was a little tough not to eat what they wanted for 10 days. They also said they felt better at the end of it all, and were happy with the quick weight loss. (Most did it for a specific event, not for health)
Here's the recipe for the "lemonade" you'll be drinking:

Lemonade sound good? I hope you like it -- because that's what you get for 10 days. Then they claim that when you finish the Master Cleanse, you will notice a permanent shift in your attitude and beliefs about what you put in your body.
My take: It tastes nasty -- made me naucious. I don't see how anyone can do it for 10 days. I guess if your desperate for a temporary fix, it definitely works. I saw it work firsthand for other people, but I didn't finish the program and never plan to.
I hope it works for you. I did it for one day and never looked back.
Here's the complete lowdown on The Master Cleanse, including foods your allowed to eat that won't toxify your body. It really does work pretty well and some say the lemonade tastes fine to them... it's just not for me.
