     Kids Games

Every kid wants to have a little fun during the holidays.  Here are a few twists on the old standards to play with your family at home.

  1. Elf Freeze - a freeze dance game. Put on any fun Holiday song (like "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer") and watch the kids dance their pants off until the music stops. Then everyone freezes. Whichever little elf moves first is kicked out... last one dancing wins.
  2. Bowling for Snowmen - get small-medium sized balls (that would substitute for small "snowball" bowling balls), 2 liter soda bottles, a small bag of gravel (for the bottom of the soda bottles) white spray paint, and a black permanent marker. Spray the bottles & balls white and draw snowmen faces on them. You can even glue buttons on for the nose Then, fill the bottoms with just enough gravel to add a little weight, then play a little bowling game by rolling the little snowballs toward the snowman pins. Bowling rules apply, or make up your own.
  3. Musical Presents - just like "hot potato", put on some festive music and have them pass a small gift-wrapped present box around until the music stops. The person holding the "present" is eliminated. Last one left, wins.
  4. Christmas Picture Bingo - Create your own, or go online and find some free Christmas Bingo cards to print out. You can use Christmas candy or red/green jelly beans for markers. Safe and fun game for all ages!
  5. Santa Hunt - Take apart a Santa wall decorations (large size, about 3+ feet tall) and hide the different parts. Divide the kids into teams. Whichever team finds and re-assembles Santa first wins.

One last thing... if you are having a party, do not forget the prizes! Put together some goodies bags with lots of little Christmas-themed party toys, trinkets or candy.
